Flavia Jimenez

Flavia Jimenez became Managing Director of Organizational Development & Leadership in 2016. In this newly created role, she is responsible for leading organizational change initiatives and opportunities for professional growth to staff through coordinated training and leadership efforts. Prior to this role, Flavia served as Senior Attorney and Project Director of Immigrant Justice for two years. A DC bar member, she has 15 years of combined experience in the areas of immigration law and policy, employment law, immigrant integration policy and programs, as well as organizing for community empowerment. Flavia worked at the National Skills Coalition and the U.S. Department of Education on economic justice and educational opportunities for adult immigrants in the U.S. She has held senior level positions at the National Immigration Forum, and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, where she worked to empower diverse immigrant communities by creating campaign strategies relating to civic participation and citizenship acquisition. Previously, Flavia worked as a Senior Policy analyst at the National Council of La Raza and as an employment rights attorney at Casa of Maryland, Inc. While at Casa of Maryland, Flavia worked with day laborers and domestic workers on wage theft and trafficking cases. Flavia emigrated to the U.S. from Peru at the age of nine and moved to the DC area, where she grew up and currently lives with her family.
