Building an economically balanced society
Founded in 2012 by a group of professional environmentalists, agronomists, nutritionists, sociologists and jurists, Association Technique d’Appui à la Sécurité Alimentaire Nutrition et la Protection de l’Environnement (ATASANPE) rejects environmentally destructive food systems. ATASANPE seeks to build a society that is ecologically balanced and raises awareness on the harms of industrialized agriculture, advocating for indigenous food and seed systems. ATASANPE currently works towards food sovereignty for communities in Chad, and focuses on the protection of the environment and using natural resources in a reasonable manner. ATASANPE conducts research, advocacy, training and support in three regions in Chad, Logone Occidental Province, Logone Oriental Province, and Chari-Baguirmi Province, with a membership of 8 organizations and 52 individuals.
