H.T. Masaki

Masaki, born and raised on O’ahu, Hawai’i, is a feminist, lifelong student, and a connector. Her background includes feminist research and activism, student organizing, and various roles in women’s rights and social justice organizations. Most recently before joining Thousand Currents, Masaki supported a feminist research project exploring gender inequality in the Pacific Islands through the lens of local marketplaces. She also previously worked at the Global Fund for Women, focusing on donor stewardship and grant writing, as well as supporting fundraising at Making Contact/International Media Project. She holds a Bachelor’s in Women’s Studies and Religious Studies, and a Master’s in Development Studies, with a focus on the intersections of gender, climate, and transnationalism. Masaki enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly when that entails being in or near the ocean. She is an avid reader and information seeker, enjoys mochi, tends to her plants, and a proud aunty.
