Sandra Silva

Regional Director, Latin America and the Caribbean
Born and raised in Brazil, Sandra has committed herself and her career to social justice. She has extensive experience in political organizing and executive support to grassroots movements, movement support organizations and political organizations, especially in Latin America and Africa. Prior to joining Thousand Currents, she served as Chief of Staff at the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, dealing with issues related to racial justice and gender diverse rights. Previously, she was based in Johannesburg, providing executive support to grassroots movements and political organizations around political education and alliance building projects across the continent. Sandra holds a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Brasília and a Bachelor’s in International Relations from the São Paulo State University. She is also a member of the Columbia Women’s Leadership Network and an alumna of the Brown University International Advanced Research Institutes. In her free time, she loves reading, listening to music, traveling towards Nature, and enjoying time with friends and family.
