Amanda Fernandes (she/her/hers) is the Grants Operations Manager at Thousand Currents. Born and raised in Brazil, she has a Bachelors and teaching degree in Sociology from the State University of Campinas. Passionate about social justice and with an academic background and a hands-on profile, Amanda handles the operations of grants management supporting the nitty gritty of the grantmaking processes at Thousand Currents. Previously, she supported the regional programs of Rights and Resources Initiative, a US-based non-profit that supports grassroots organizations working with land rights and community-based solutions. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, reading and eating.
