Zahra Vieneuve

Vice President, Philanthropic Partnerships and Influence
Zahra Vieneuve is a dedicated architect of feminist, trust-based partnerships rooted in equity, justice, and self-determination. Born in the U.S. and raised between Switzerland and Egypt, Zahra’s worldview has been shaped by diverse cultures and communities, with her political education deeply influenced by feminist thinkers and advocates across the Middle East and North Africa. A passionate storyteller and strategist, she is committed to serving social justice movements in the Global South and redefining narratives around resources and power within philanthropy.

Currently serving as Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships and Influence at Thousand Currents, Zahra’s expertise spans the intersection of climate, gender, racial, and economic justice. Throughout her career, she has skillfully bridged programmatic leadership and philanthropic strategy, mobilizing significant resources to drive systemic change. Previously, she worked with Marin Community Foundation, Global Fund for Women, and various social justice organizations across the Middle East and North Africa, overseeing teams that raised up to $28M annually. Zahra holds two Master’s degrees—in Political Science from the University of Geneva and in International and Comparative Education from the American University in Cairo—and is a certified 21/64 Philanthropic Advisor.
